This fundraising project was started in 1999 when the club agreed with Tavistock Town Council to erect a large Christmas Tree on the front of the Town Hall which would be covered in lights sponsored by members of the public in memory of departed love ones.
Over £170,000 has been collected to date. It has become so popular that the number of trees has been increased to three to cater for all the light bulbs.
With the Lions Club of Tavistock being a registered charity, Gift Aid can be applied to all your donations, giving an extra 25% for our chosen charities!
The Trees of Light will be turned on at a short service at 7.00pm on Thursday 4th December in Bedford Square. Hot chocolate and mince pies will be served.
