As you would expect from a fund-raising organisation, the club runs a wide variety of events every year, ranging from the ever popular Carnival Week, which culminates with the grand procession of floats through the town, to the Westcountry Balloon Fiesta & Day at the Races, which is now established as the third largest hot air balloon fiesta in the UK!

In addition to these larger events, the club also organises other events and fund-raisers during the year.  Here are a few of the more popular!


 

Christmas Draw

This is organised to raise money for local children’s charities and youth projects with tickets being sold by club members at the Morrisons supermarket in Tavistock over the weekends leading up to the draw. For the past 5 years Martin Hawkins of the Tavistock Picture Framing Company has donated the 1st prize in the form of a framed limited edition print or original painting.
 

Other activities

The club is not just involved in fund raising activities but carries out other projects within the community such as providing Christmas hampers for under privileged families, helping out with gardening and decorating projects and assisting the Tavistock Town Council with the park and ride scheme during Goose Fair. In celebration of the new Millennium, the club installed over 25 new boundary markers around the Parish of Tavistock with local schools filling 8 time capsules which were then buried beneath some of the new granite boundary stones.
