Theme for 2009 - 'Tell Us A Story'

This annual event takes place during July, culminating with the main carnival parade on the third Saturday in July - next year the 18th July 2009. 

There are events all though the week prior to the procession including a Parish bowls competition, pavement artists competition, Town races, a concert in the Parish Church and musical evenings in various local pubs.

Each year the carnival has a theme - recent themes have included 'Past, Present & Future',  'British Comedy' and in 2008 'Hollywood to Bollywood'.

In the weeks before carnival, the members of the club deliver a programme to every household in the town, ensuring that the carnival is a truly whole town event!
